Specialized Care for Military Personnel in Our RESCU Program

Resilience, Empowerment, Safety, and Care for our Uniformed Heroes (RESCU) is a confidential addiction treatment program designed specifically for active-duty military, veterans, and first responders. Whether you are currently serving or have served in the U.S. military, or if you’re a law enforcement officer, firefighter, corrections officer, EMT, or paramedic, our program is tailored to meet your unique needs.

Key benefits of the program include:

  • Specialized primary therapists – Our expert team is trained in military culture, as well as substance use disorders (SUD) in the U.S. military, and is equipped to address the distinct needs of veterans and active-duty members, along with first responders.
  • Confidentiality and disclosure options – You have the choice of a disclosed or non-disclosed approach. If disclosure is necessary, we strictly follow all command structure requirements to ensure compliance and privacy.
  • Targeted curriculum – Our program is evidence-based and trauma-informed, focusing on the link between service-related trauma and substance use.
  • Separation and integration options – We offer a dedicated unit for military and first responder patients with specialized programming while providing the option to participate in group sessions with the larger community when appropriate.
  • Medication for addiction treatment (MAT) – MAT may be part of your individualized care plan to manage withdrawal, reduce cravings, and prevent relapse. Any decisions around MAT are made in collaboration with both the patient and their command.
  • Rank discretion – Military members have the option to disclose or withhold their rank within the community based on personal preference.

Through a structured routine, patients in the RESCU program at Bracebridge Hall develop a foundation for lasting recovery, build resilience, and create coping mechanisms that support long-term sobriety and successful reintegration into both military and civilian life.

We accept Tricare and most other commercial insurance programs.

What to Expect in Our RESCU Program

The daily RESCU program includes:

  • A Reveille & Retreat flag ceremony symbolizing your commitment and providing a sense of pride, strength, and tradition
  • Morning and evening muster groups to welcome new patients, congratulate those discharging, review expectations, address concerns, and set daily goals
  • Physical training sessions designed to enhance physical fitness, resilience, and teamwork while also supporting your mental and emotional well-being
  • Fresh air breaks for those who smoke or vape. Those who choose not to smoke should be allowed free time during these breaks

These structured activities are designed to foster a sense of camaraderie, discipline, and resilience, providing a well-rounded recovery experience in the RESCU program.
